Stewardship Prayer for St. Madeleine Catholic Parish
Almighty God, my parish is composed of people like me. I help make it what it is. It will be friendly, If I am. It will be holy if I am.Its pews will be filled If I help fill them. It will do Good works if I work. It will be prayerful if I pray,It will make generous gifts to many causes. If I am a generous giver. It will bring other people into its worship if I invite and bring them. It will be a Parish family of loyalty and love, of fearlessness and faith, of compassion, charity and mercy. If I - who make it what it is - am filled with these same qualities, Therefore, with the help of God, I will dedicate myself to the task of being all the things I want my parish to be. Bless my journey, Lord God, That I might build the church,
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord Amen
We Worship God by doing as He said.: "Do This In Rememberance Of Me."
Luke 22:1919 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:2020 And likewise the cup after supper, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults begins on Sunday, August 25. OCIA is the process for adults who desire to join the Catholic faith, those who have not completed their sacraments, and those simply seeking more information about the Catholic Faith.
Our classes also have students who are already Catholic and seek a deeper more adult understanding of our Faith.
By clicking the "Parish Giving" box to the right, you can easily sign up to make your contributions to our parish online. Recording your offering is automatic and eliminates the need for weekly envelopes'

A Note From Fr. Sebastian:
Today, our Christian brothers and sisters worldwide will greet those they meet with the words, “He is risen!” Our forty days of Lenten penance are over as we again sing Alleluia, for today, Easter Sunday, we remember that night when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rose triumphant from the grave and destroyed death forever. In Our Easter Sequence, we hear the words, “Yes, Christ, my hope is arisen!” Yes, Christ is our hope, and as Pope Francis reminds us, “This is no magic formula that makes problems vanish. No, the resurrection of Christ is not that. Instead, it is the victory of love over the root of evil, a victory that does not “by-pass” suffering and death, but passes through them, opening a path in the abyss, transforming evil into good: this is the unique hallmark of the power of God.”When we renew our baptismal promises each year at Easter, the we are asked: “Do you reject sin, so as to live in the freedom of God’s children?” When we say, “I do,” the Church assures us we receive “the power to live and act under the prompting of the Holy Spirit through the gifts of the Holy Spirit” (Catechism 1266). This freedom is a real, a freedom not to do what we want but to do what we should. May we never take this great gift of our Baptism for granted. May we also remember that while today, as we celebrate the greatest event in human history, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave, that every Eucharistic celebration is a remembrance of that same Paschal Mystery. For Catholics, every Sunday is Easter Sunday!I invite everyone to join me in congratulating those who received into the Church at the Easter Vigil and received the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. These individuals have been diligently preparing themselves for this great day for many months and are now in full communion with the Church. In the narthex, you can see photographs of each of them. Please make an effort to get to know them and welcome these new Catholics and new members of our parish family.I would like to thank all those who worked hard to make our liturgies during Holy Week beautiful and memorable events and generously contributed in so many ways: ushers, lectors, extraordinary ministers, sacristans, musicians, and our office staff with their team of volunteers. A special thank you goes out to our youth for their beautiful presentation of the Shadow Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. Please know that you are all very important to me and have a very important place in my heart. Our next big event will be our 100th Jubilee Celebration which will take place in just over a month on May 25, 2025. Bishop Pohlmeier will be joining us for the 11:30 Mass and will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation for our youth that same day. Please watch the bulletin for more information on our jubilee.Once again, my warmest prayers for all of you, your families, and loved ones! Happy Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord!Fr. Sebastian

Defend Our Faith
In order to defend our Faith, we need to know our Faith. Many of us attended eight years of Catholic Grade School. Once we left and went on to public education, our formal religious education came to an end. We are, in effect, going through life with the eighth grade understanding of our Bible, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium! The Church wants us to know our Faith as Adults. Adult religion classes that guide us to a deeper understanding of Catholicism, many of us have witnessed, is a most rewarding and enjoyable time that is well spent.
