The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults begins on Sunday, August 25. OCIA is the process for adults who desire to join the Catholic faith, those who have not completed their sacraments, and those simply seeking more information about the Catholic Faith.
Our classes also have students who are already Catholic and seek a deeper more adult understanding of our Faith.
By clicking the "Parish Giving" box to the right, you can easily sign up to make your contributions to our parish online. Recording your offering is automatic and eliminates the need for weekly envelopes'

A Note From Fr. Sebastian:
We have been journeying through the Gospel of Mark during the Sundays of this liturgical year, and perhaps you’ve noticed that in Mark’s Gospel Jesus is constantly on the move in what seems to be an exhausting pace as he proclaims the good news of the Kingdom of God. Because of this, two words seem to leap off the page in today’s Gospel, and those words are, “Jesus stopped.” What caused our Lord to momentarily stop his intentionally fast pace? It was because a blind beggar, Timaeus by name, called out to him for mercy, asking our Lord to have pity on him. Jesus asks him, “What do you want me to do for you?” Acknowledging Jesus as Lord the blind man makes a simple request. He says, “Master, I want to see.” Moved with compassion our Lord says to him, "Go your way; your faith has saved you." Immediately Timaeus’ sight is restored, and he then follows Jesus “on the way” to the cross and resurrection.Who among us would not want Jesus to stop and call us by name? He does, but only if we approach Jesus as did this blind beggar and plead for mercy. As sinners, we are all blind beggars, not physically, but spiritually. It’s why at the beginning of every Eucharistic celebration we cry out as did Timaeus, “Lord, have mercy; Christ, have mercy; Lord; have mercy.” We are rapidly approaching the end of our liturgical year, and the Church will begin to draw our attention to the end of our journey as we follow Jesus “on the way” to our own Calvary and resurrection. Friday, November 1, is the Solemnity of All Saints, a holy day of obligation, where we call upon the intercession of all the saints in heaven to pray for us on our journey in this life. The following day is the Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed or All Souls’ Day, where we pray for those suffering souls in Purgatory who can no longer pray for themselves and so need our prayers during their purgation while they await their heavenly reward. At our 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass on Saturday we will be joined by the Catholic Gators who will walk from St. Augustine Parish in Gainesville to St. Madeleine and offer this sacrifice for the defeat of Amendment 4. After the Mass you are all invited to remain as we pray for our loved ones who have gone before us, especially those whom we have lost this past year. We will pray the Office of the Dead and conclude with a blessing for the graves in our Memorial Garden.Timucua Stations of the Cross have been installed along the Emmaus Trail along the perimeter of our campus. These twelve special stations, blessed by Bishop Pohlmeier during his recent visit, were how the Timucuan Indians of Florida who were catechized by Franciscan Missionaries honored out Lord’s passion and death. They offer us a rich insight into our Catholic heritage in the part of Florida that we call home. I extend my thanks to the members of the Apostolate of the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche for their efforts in providing us this rich opportunity for prayer. As of tomorrow (Monday) we have only 9 days left until Election Day! There is one remaining First Saturday Mass on November 2 where we pray that Amendment 4 fails to reach the 60% support required for it to pass. Let us pray that all America will come to recognize and respect the profound dignity of all human life, especially that of the unborn. Vote “NO!” on Amendment 4! On a lighter note, our famous Fish Fries that began last Friday continue for the next three Fridays. Please join us for an evening of great food and fellowship.May we always remember that we were once blind beggars whose sight Jesus has restored with those liberating words, "Go your way; your faith has saved you."God bless you all!Fr. Sebastian

Defend Our Faith
In order to defend our Faith, we need to know our Faith. Many of us attended eight years of Catholic Grade School. Once we left and went on to public education, our formal religious education came to an end. We are, in effect, going through life with the eighth grade understanding of our Bible, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium! The Church wants us to know our Faith as Adults. Adult religion classes that guide us to a deeper understanding of Catholicism, many of us have witnessed, is a most rewarding and enjoyable time that is well spent.
