Stewardship Prayer for St. Madeleine Catholic Parish
Almighty God, my parish is composed of people like me. I help make it what it is.It will be friendly, If I am. It will be holy if I am.Its pews will be filled If I help fill them. It will do Good works if I work. It will be prayerful if I pray,It will make generous gifts to many causes. If I am a generous giver. It will bring other people into its worship if I invite and bring them. It will be a Parish family of loyalty and love, of fearlessness and faith, of compassion, charity and mercy.
If I - who make it what it is - am filled with these same qualities, Therefore, with the help of God, I will dedicate myself to the task of being all the things I want my parish to be. Bless my journey, Lord God, That I might build the church, through Jesus Christ, Our LordAmen
We Worship God by doing as He said.: "Do This In Rememberance Of Me."
Luke 22:1919 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:2020 And likewise the cup after supper, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults begins on Sunday, August 25. OCIA is the process for adults who desire to join the Catholic faith, those who have not completed their sacraments, and those simply seeking more information about the Catholic Faith.
Our classes also have students who are already Catholic and seek a deeper more adult understanding of our Faith.
By clicking the "Parish Giving" box to the right, you can easily sign up to make your contributions to our parish online. Recording your offering is automatic and eliminates the need for weekly envelopes'

A Note From Fr. Sebastian:
Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which brings our Christmas Season to a close. Tomorrow, Monday, Ordinary Time begins and continues to Tuesday, March 4, the day before Ash Wednesday. Be assured, there is nothing “ordinary” about Ordinary Time, rather, it is the time in which the mystery of Christ is honored in its fullness as we bring the blessings and joys of Christmas to a world that is searching for the truth of Christ. Our parish family of St. Madeleine has many reasons to celebrate as we go forth to announce the Gospel message to the world. As you heard last week, Pope Francis officially launched the Jubilee Year of 2025 with the theme “Hope does not disappoint.” We are blessed that Bishop Pohlmeier has designated our Santa Fe Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche as a holy place where the faithful can receive a Jubilee Indulgence. Instructions on how to obtain this indulgence can be found in the Shrine. I urge all of you to take a few moments to visit our Shrine, spend a few moments with our Blessed Lord, and receive the graces of the indulgence that the Church offers us from her treasury. While the Church celebrates this Year of Jubilee, we here at St. Madeleine are celebrating our own jubilee, with the year 2025 marking the 100th anniversary of our parish. May 25, 2025, marks the official date when Bishop Pohlmeier will join us for our 11:30 Sunday liturgy. You may recall that several weeks ago our parish hosted a workshop on estate planning and shared giving offered by the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of St. Augustine. The workshop was well received, and so we will offer another Catholic Foundation-sponsored workshop entitled “Preparing for End-of-Life: What you need to know.” To be held here on Sunday, January 26, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Topics to be discussed include:● Catholic Church teachings on healthcare and end-of-life decisions● Physician-assisted suicide, euthanasia, or mercy killing● Brain death and vegetative state● Whole body donation or organ donation● Why is pre-planning my Catholic funeral important?
While our spiritual preparation must always take priority, preparing for our death by making our final wishes known relieves our loved ones of a painful burden as they mourn our loss. Since lunch will be served, an RSVP is required to attend. We will begin registration for the workshop this Sunday after all masses. As we celebrate today’s feast of the Baptism of the Lord, we recall the words of the Apostle Paul, who tells us in his Letter to the Romans (6:4, 8) that by our baptism:“We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death … If, then, we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.”As the Church teaches, “For those who die with Christ, life has changed, not ended.” As we embark on our journey into ordinary time, let us live lives of gratitude for the gift of our baptism and stay united with Christ as we look forward to spending eternity with him in glory.Fr. Sebastian

Defend Our Faith
In order to defend our Faith, we need to know our Faith. Many of us attended eight years of Catholic Grade School. Once we left and went on to public education, our formal religious education came to an end. We are, in effect, going through life with the eighth grade understanding of our Bible, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium! The Church wants us to know our Faith as Adults. Adult religion classes that guide us to a deeper understanding of Catholicism, many of us have witnessed, is a most rewarding and enjoyable time that is well spent.
